Whole School Provision
SEND – Local Offer
The Local Offer provides useful information and advice on the services and resources available for children and young people with SEND as well as their parents and or carers, and professionals (such as within education) who work closely with a child or young person with SEND. The information included provides individuals and groups with more choice and control to ensure that the appropriate support is chosen to meet need.

Mrs Sophie Tennant is the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo). She is a part time teacher and works Monday and Tuesday each week. She was awarded the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo) in December 2016 and completed a Masters in Inclusive Education in November 2020. At Burneston Church of England (VA) Primary School we recognise that all pupils are entitled to a quality of education and provision that is inclusive and will enable all to achieve their potential. We believe in early identification, removing barriers to learning, positive intervention and working collaboratively with pupils, parents and outside agencies to raise, both, expectations and levels of achievement. Our aim is to provide a positive educational experience for all our pupils, including those with a special educational need or disability, within our caring and supportive school environment where pupils are valued equally and are given opportunities to shine.
