PSHE RSE

Personal ,Social, Health, & Citizenship Education (PSHCE)

At Burneston CE VA Primary School, our children’s wellbeing is of the upmost importance. Enabling them to develop the skills and knowledge to keep themselves safe and healthy is a priority. We also want every Burneston child to leave primary school with a solid understanding of the wider world. Therefore, our aim is to ensure that every child leaves Burneston with a set of skills that they have been able to explore in a safe environment and the confidence to make their own choices based on their knowledge and understanding of managing risks and knowing when to say ‘no’. Our PSHE/RSE curriculum is a collaborative approach where we build on and work with children’s parents and carers to support their children to become a confident young person who is able to identify and support their own wellbeing through a range a strategies. All our PSHE topics are taught in line with our school’s equality, diversity and inclusion policies and may aspects, such as British Values and positive relationships, are not simply taught, but embedded and modelled daily throughout all aspects of school life.
